BA (Hons) Modelmaking

Alex Thompson

As a creative, I found myself inspired by architecture to create my own work. I am proficient in constructing a wide range of detailed miniatures, specialising in architectural and scale models, using various techniques and materials with a keen eye for detail. I use CAD programmes as a tool to help make visually compelling models and I always strive to develop my skills further and learn new ways of working.

For my final project, I engrossed myself in the architecture of Word Expos. Expo 70 was the exposition which displayed industry, art, creatives and technology displayed in Osaka, Japan in 1970. I strived to make models of the buildings that never made it past their initial design stage.
