I am a textiles designer predominantly creating designs for interior spaces, focusing on colour and the use of bold, maximalist designs. My main inspiration for my collections comes from my hometown of Somerset, the environment and the world around me. I approach my design work with the use of collages and mark making to create textural, abstract designs for screen print, digital applications and hard surfaces. 

For my final major project, Fables & Folklore, I wanted to explore the fables and folklore of my home county Somerset, researching into tales and natural imagery that link back to the traditions and mysterious stories. This project is designed for domestic maximalist interiors, using a range of materials such as linens, ceramic tiles and wood to make samples for within these spaces. The collection includes wallpapers, wall panels, tiles, curtains and upholstery fabrics created using both digital and hand printing techniques. I used a range of warm colours to create a welcoming collection for the home with motifs of suns, moons and stars, florals, ribbons. 

These motifs were inspired by the traditional celebrations of May Day and branches from a Wassail and combining them with the styles of collage and illustrative to create funky and contemporary designs for a pattern clashing interior. I approach making a collection through lots of experimentation with these techniques, playing with colour ways and working back into designs using additional techniques.

I plan to apply to jobs within the industry in hopes to get an interior design job.
