Get ready for AUB!

You’ve got your offer – now get ready to make your move into creative higher education (HE) with confidence.

AUB’s Transition to Creative HE Day is a one-day, on-campus event just for Contextual Offer holders and All Access AUB participants. It’s designed to give you a head start before you join us in September – helping you feel confident, supported, and excited about your next chapter at AUB.

Why you should come along

This day is all about you – giving you the tools, insight and reassurance to hit the ground running when you start your creative degree.

Here’s what you’ll get out of it:

  • Boost your confidence: Take part in fun, practical workshops and hear from staff and students about things like financial support, academic writing and student life – so you’ll know exactly what to expect when you start.
  • Get a taste of creative HE: Discover what it’s really like to study a creative subject at a specialist arts university. You’ll get behind-the-scenes insight into how we learn, make and collaborate at AUB.
  • Ask anything: This is your space to ask questions – whether it’s about your course, accommodation, finances or student life. Chat directly with tutors, current students and AUB support staff.
  • Meet your people: You’ll get to meet your future tutors and course mates in a relaxed setting, so when September arrives, you’ll already see some friendly faces around campus.

Who can attend?

This event is open to:

  • Students who've received a Contextual Offer from AUB.
  • Students who are part of the All Access AUB programme.

If you’re eligible, we’ll send you an email invitation with all the details on how to sign up. If you think you should have received an invite but haven’t, just drop us a message at wp@aub.ac.uk and we’ll be happy to help.

How our Transition to Creative HE Day differs to regular Offer Holder Days

Our Transition to Creative HE Day is separate from AUB’s Offer Holder Days – and much more personal.

It’s a smaller, more focused event for students from underrepresented backgrounds in higher education. You’ll be surrounded by others with similar experiences and aspirations, all preparing to take the same exciting step into university life.

Unlike an Offer Holder Day, which is all about exploring your course and campus, this event focuses on confidence, skills and support – making sure you feel ready for every part of life at AUB, both academic and social.

You’ll also get the chance for a one-to-one or small-group chat with one of your tutors – the perfect opportunity to ask questions and get personal advice before you start.

To help with travel, we also have support available for attendees – offering a one-off award of up to £50 towards travel costs. Please note: You can attend both this event and an Offer Holder Day, but the financial support is only available once.

What happens on the day?

Expect a full, friendly day on campus packed with useful info, creative inspiration and real-world tips to get you ready for AUB life.

Here’s a sample of what you might get up to:

  • Workshops on budgeting, financial support and accommodation.
  • Sessions on academic skills and how to manage your workload.
  • Insights into student life, the Students’ Union and wellbeing support.
  • Visits to your course area, where you’ll meet your tutor and some of your future classmates.
  • Q+As, talks and plenty of chances to explore campus and chat with the AUB community.

By the end of the day, you’ll leave feeling confident, connected and ready to start your creative journey at AUB.
