Since graduating, Rebecca Smith has since worked for Western Design Architects as a Senior Architectural Designer. Her passion for collaboration saw her win the Dean's Prize as well as the Nicholas Durbridge Award at undergraduate level and in 2022 she was awarded an RIBA Wren Scholarship, awarded to those who have the potential to make a significant contribution to architecture.
In 2023, she was part of a team who were long-listed for the Davidson Prize, an ideas competition for homelessness and housing insecurity.
In practice, Rebecca enjoys focusing on excellence in sustainability and works across a range of sectors, including luxury homes, master planning and heritage schemes, as well as commercial and community projects, from conception through to construction using a fusion of BIM and hand-sketching.
Rebecca worked closely on the Upton Country Park Welcome Centre project, a BREEAM Very Good-accredited building, which won Gold in the Transformation and Innovation category at the Destination Management Board Tourism Awards 2023, and was also a Regional Finalist in the esteemed Civic Trust Awards.
