A collective of students from the MA Painting course at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) are presenting Gathering, a multidisciplinary art exhibition.

Taking place at the Dolphin Centre from 19–23 May, the exhibition brings together 12 distinct creative voices, the showcase explores the complexities of the human experience through the lens of immersion and observation. At the heart of the exhibition is a provocative inquiry into how we perceive our surroundings.

Exhibiting artist Sarah Diggins presents Immersion, a body of work that challenges the audience to consider their own focal point in a chaotic world.

“In what perspective do you choose to immerse yourself?” asks Sarah. “Choose the infinite beauty and perfection of nature; choose the quagmire and turmoil in our world; choose our ego selves and or choose differently. What do you choose?”

The exhibition serves as a physical ‘gathering’ of diverse perspectives, ranging from the organic symmetry of the natural world to the fractured realities of modern society.

By utilising the accessible, high-footfall space of the Dolphin Centre, the artists aim to dismantle the barriers between formal art education and the local community, inviting passers-by to pause and reflect on these universal themes.

Gathering features an evocative range of works from artists including Gill Buckley, Sherridan Burgess, Jake Darcy, Sarah Diggins, Lisa Henshall, Jack Hernandez, Vivien Hoffman, Eldon Kok, Rachael Lee, Thu Nguyen, Payal Raj and Sarah Reed.

Gathering is in the new GATHER unit on the ground floor of the Dolphin Centre in Poole from Tuesday 19 May to Saturday 23 May 2026.
