Creative Enterprise, the UK’s leading initiative for supporting screen-based businesses, is set to host Creative Enterprise Live: New & Emerging at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) on Thursday 23 April, 14.00–19.30.

This high-impact event will bring together the region’s most promising creative entrepreneurs for an afternoon of intensive masterclasses followed by an industry-wide networking reception and program launch.

The official reception and launch will offer a vital space for the 50 expected guests –including local founders, AUB alumni, and regional partners – to forge new collaborations and opportunities.

The event starts with a session led by Steve Rafter, a Senior Lecturer at Bournemouth University and Director of the Short Sounds Film Festival. Drawing on over 20 years of experience in sound design and immersive media, Steve will guide attendees through a vital ‘Skills Audit’ workshop designed to help founders and freelancers identify their professional blind spots, providing a structured approach to ‘knowing what you don’t know’ and ensuring their business foundations are secure.

The focus then shifts to the modern creator economy with brand strategist Julia Munder. As a former Marketing Director and an authority on digital transformation, Julia will explore the world of Transmedia IP. Her session focuses on how creators can build and scale their own intellectual property and grow a paying community independently, bypassing traditional industry gatekeepers to achieve long-term creative freedom.

Following Julia is filmmaker and technologist Fiona Bavington who will demystify one of the industry's most discussed topics: Artificial Intelligence. Fiona will share her expertise as a pioneer in AI-assisted production and founder of the virtual band Don’t Ask the Chatbot. Her session moves beyond the hype to show how AI can be practically integrated into creative workflows as a collaborative tool that enhances productivity without compromising artistic vision.

A spokesperson for Creative Enterprise noted that bringing this event to AUB allows them to engage directly with the talent pool that makes Bournemouth a creative powerhouse. By combining Steve Rafter’s foundational audits, Julia Munder’s brand strategies, and Fiona Bavington’s AI insights, the event provides a comprehensive roadmap for screen businesses looking to thrive in a rapidly changing global market.
