Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) is delighted to announce two highly anticipated postgraduate exhibitions showcasing the extraordinary talent of its graduating Master’s students.
Taking place at Lighthouse, Poole, the exhibitions will bring together diverse, boundary-pushing contemporary art from the MA Fine Art and MA Painting cohorts.
The two exhibitions, which opened in July, offer the public a unique opportunity to engage with the culmination of a year's intensive creative research and practice.
WILD…LIFE from MA Fine Art is a captivating exploration of contemporary themes and multidisciplinary practices, and ELEVEN from MA Painting brings together 11 unique voices to celebrate the versatility, depth and enduring power of contemporary paint, showcasing a rich tapestry of techniques and narrative concepts.
Fran Norton, Course Leader for MA Fine Art, says, “The work in WILD…LIFE represents a fearless confrontation with our modern landscape. Our students have pushed the boundaries of multidisciplinary practice to interrogate what it means to coexist with, react to, and reshape the world around us.
“Bringing these vital creative voices into a public space like Lighthouse is a monumental milestone for their professional practices.”
Dominic Shepherd, Course Leader for MA Painting, adds, “Painting is an incredibly enduring, living medium, and ELEVEN highlights exactly why it continues to captivate.
“These 11 distinct artists have spent the past year deep in creative dialogue, developing highly individual narratives and rigorous technical approaches. To see their collective energy displayed alongside the Fine Art cohort creates a dynamic conversation that shouldn't be missed.”
Representing the collaborative spirit of AUB’s postgraduate community, the exhibitions will run simultaneously within the venue, allowing visitors to experience a seamless dialogue between the two distinct courses.
A joint Private View was held at Lighthouse on Thursday 30 July, bringing together artists, art enthusiasts and the local community to preview the work and raise a glass to the graduating class of 2026.
Following this initial off-site showcase at Lighthouse, the exhibitions will head back to campus where they’ll be hosted at TheGallery as part of the 2026 Postgraduate Summer Shows, which officially open on Thursday 13 August 2026.
