Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) alumnus Christopher Mulvin is celebrating major success in independent British cinema following a brilliant sweep at the British Horror Film Festival 2026.

Held at the Lumiere Cinema in Romford, the festival saw supernatural horror feature JINX claim four awards out of five nominations, including the night's top honour, Best Feature Film.

Christopher took home Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the thriller, which follows the story of a cursed dollhouse, a missing boy, and an ancient hex.

JINX also picked up awards for Best Director (Richard Oakes) and the Rise Up Star award (Chloe Hews).

Speaking about the film’s festival premiere and awards triumph, Christopher shared his excitement on social media:

“Being able to experience the official festival premiere of JINX on the big screen, surrounded by so many wonderful people, was truly incredible! 4 incredible awards from five nominations – and to say we are overwhelmed, grateful and proud would be an understatement.

“It's a huge honour to receive the award, and I'm incredibly proud to have been part of JINX.

“To have JINX itself receive the award for BEST FEATURE FILM is a moment that I will never forget.”

Kasia Zaremba-Byrne, Course Leader for BA (Hons) Acting at AUB, praised Christopher's dedication and success, saying “We are absolutely delighted to see Christopher recognised with this award. The entire BA (Hons) Acting team and AUB community are immensely proud of his ongoing success.”

The award marks another key milestone for the AUB graduate, who's steadily built an impressive resume across UK television and independent film, including appearances on BBC’s Doctors.

With JINX currently preparing for international release across overseas markets, Christopher is already back on set filming his next major feature project, Last Resort.
