Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) has officially announced the launch of its inaugural Festival of Creativity, a major new flagship event designed to showcase creative talent from across the region.

Taking place across the weekend of 4–5 July, the free public festival will see AUB campus host an immersive weekend of live music, live art, pop-up entertainment, independent maker markets, exclusive graduate film screenings and hands-on public workshops, as well as local food and drink stalls.

Running alongside the University’s renowned Undergraduate Summer Shows, the Festival of Creativity opens AUB’s doors to the world, inviting everyone on to campus to engage directly with local contemporary talent.

A highlight of the weekend will be the opening of AUB’s brand-new on-campus cinema facility, which will host exclusive debut screenings of graduate films produced by the next generation of filmmakers from the internationally-acclaimed Bournemouth Film School.

Alongside the cinematic programming, visitors can experience live music from regional and emerging acts across multiple outdoor stages, curated independent creative markets featuring original artwork, textiles, ceramics, jewellery and fashion, as well as publications for sale.

Lisa Mann, Vice-Chancellor and CEO at AUB, comments: “The Festival of Creativity represents a milestone moment for Arts University Bournemouth as we look to deepen our civic connections and celebrate the immense cultural and economic value of creative education.

“Over the festival weekend we’ll be open to all, so whether you're a prospective student, a local business seeking fresh talent, or a curious neighbour wanting to explore the creative heart of Dorset, all are welcome.”

In addition to performance and exhibitions, the festival offers an expansive educational and professional programme. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on creative workshops, masterclasses, and panel discussions led by prominent industry speakers and academic leaders.

The weekend is also designed as a networking platform for local businesses and creative agencies seeking to connect with and recruit the finest emerging talent in the region.

The festival is open to the general public with admission to all areas, including the live music stages, exhibitions and cinema screenings entirely free of charge.
