I’m a costume maker and designer based in Edinburgh. I currently specialise in costumes and props, but during my studies I gained a lot of interest in set design and supervision as well.
I have worked on every stage play that was made by the university, mainly in the scenic art department. For A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Aileen Gonsalves, I have had my first official designer position as projection designer.
I have always been a huge movie enthusiast, but now I can see myself working in both film and theatre, and I will be focusing on buyer and assistant designer roles. As I have nearly 20 years of costume making experience, I always approach design through a maker’s lens, and I love to provide technical drawings and very detailed illustrations that are easy to use by the wardrobe team.
Plans after degree
I am already working on the Edinburgh Festival Carnival as costume maker and supervisor, and I am preparing for my first job at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the experimental theatre piece Illuminate the Darkness by Bea Conner-Pohl.
