Textiles Welcome Guide - Overview
Your Welcome Guide

We're delighted to have you join us at Arts University Bournemouth, and hope that your time here will be rewarding, challenging, creative and enjoyable.

Arrival and your first week

Welcome to BA Textiles at Arts University Bournemouth where we look forward to spending time working with and supporting you as you make great leaps forward in your learning and understanding of the creative sphere!

Starting at AUB

What's new...

Welcome to AUB Textiles! We are so excited for the coming year… you will at first find it all a little unknown and strange I’m sure, but once you are a week or two into term you will truly be just focusing on making, designing and learning, and you will begin to stop worrying. The textiles team have been working hard over the summer months with AUB to ensure that as many measures as possible are in place to ease your learning when you start /return to studies taking into full consideration the recent pandemic guidance, (both AUB’s and the governments).

We will be commencing term with blended learning as a method of working with you i.e. online lectures and some tutorials coupled with practical workshops on campus. As a practical course, we will be operating safe distancing and strict health and safety measures in order for you to still be involved in textiles workshop activities and making at AUB with our industry standard equipment and dedicated staff.

Through a control of numbers accessing for practical engagement coupled with our online teaching via zoom and in studio contact (a mix of on site and off campus zoom led tutorials for practical and theory units), you will grow and settle, knowing that we are here for you, practically and pastorally, navigating your learning together.

We are all looking forward to seeing you all,

Induction and your Timetable

You will be emailed soon to enrol onto the course. It is important that you enrol by Monday 28 September so that we can set up your timetable.

Once you have enrolled you will be able to set up your student login to access your email account and more information via the myAUB portal.

If you enrol before the 28 September then your timetable will be available through myAUB by Wednesday 7 October. This will let you know when and where to arrive on campus in the first week and the timings and how to access any remote learning sessions.
