Award certificates, transcripts/HEAR, and employment references/confirmation of study letters

If ever you need a proof that you studied at Arts University Bournemouth or have lost or damaged any original documents, the below information will help you find what you need.

Award certificates

Award or degree certificates are the legal document to prove the successful completion and the outcome award of your studies at AUB.

Award certificates are handed out at the Graduation ceremonies or posted to you.

If you never received a copy of your award certificate, please email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk. If you've lost or damaged your original award certificate, you'll need to order a replacement.

Replacement award certificates

FdA, Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught

If you graduated from August 2009 onwards:

Your award was validated and issued by AUB and you can order a replacement certificate directly from us. Orders can take up to a week to be posted.

The cost of a replacement award certificate is £30. Please note that you can only order ONE replacement.

If you require any of the following when ordering a replacement award certificate, please email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk after placing your order:

A photocopy via email before we post the certificate.
International courier delivery.
A change of name due to gender transition.

If you graduated up to and including July 2009, or graduated in 2010 and chose to have your award issued by UCA:

Your award was validated and issued by University for the Creative Arts, Farnham and you will need to order a replacement certificate directly from them. You can order a certificate from UCA by clicking this link or by emailing them directly at studentrecords@uca.ac.uk.

The cost of a replacement award certificate is £40.

Foundation Diploma Certificates

Your award was validated and issued by University of the Arts London (UAL). Click the link to order a replacement certificate. Once we receive your order, we'll order the replacement certificate with UAL.

Please note that replacement certificate orders can take up to two months to be delivered.

BTEC certificates and diplomas issued by EdExcel (now Pearson)

You can order a replacement certificate directly with Pearsons.

Academic transcripts and Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)

Academic transcripts or Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) provide a breakdown of the units of study a student has completed with their results. At the end of Level 4 and Level 5, students receive a summary transcript via eVision.

If you graduated in 2015 or afterwards

Your HEAR is available by logging in to GradIntel. You can provide access to any employers to view your HEAR in a safe and secure way, to view your academic record or you can download your HEAR to a PDF.

You'll have been sent your sign-up information around the time that you graduated from your course. If you have any trouble with logging in, please contact GradIntel directly.

If you graduated prior to 2015

You can order a digital or paper copy of your Academic Transcript from us. You won't have access to the HEAR service via GradIntel.

If you require a digital copy only:

We can provide you with a PDF version of your Academic Transcript via email, free of charge. Please email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk to order this, providing your full name as of when you studied, your date of birth and your AUB Student ID number, if you remember this.

If you require a printed version:

We can print a physical copy of your Academic Transcript for you on AUB headed paper for £10. You can order this directly from us.

If you require a digital version as well, please email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk to order this, providing your full name as when you studied, your date of birth and your AUB Student ID number, if you remember this.

If you need any further information about the course, such as the Course Handbook at the time of the studies, please email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk.

Employment references and Confirmation of study letters

Third parties

For any potential employers, agencies or anything similar, wishing to verify a former or current student’s studies at AUB, please use the HEDD service, or email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk. We always require third-party consent from the student and won't provide any information pertaining to an individual without their consent.

If you're requesting a character reference, this needs to be addressed to the intended individual and emailed directly to them. Student Records are unable to provide character references for any current or former students.

Confirmation of Study or council tax exemption

For proof or Confirmation of Study at AUB, we can provide you with a letter outlining the details of your studies.

For current students: You can generate a letter using eVision. Please follow these instructions on Viewpoint.
For former students: Please email studentrecords@aub.ac.uk, providing your full name as when you studied, your date of birth and your AUB Student ID number, if you remember this.
