Re:Oracle

Re:Oracle is a performance that responds to the inherent power dynamics within languages and the passivity imposed upon us by those in power, whose words shape the perception and treatment of marginalised bodies within our society. It urges us to consider how we collectively respond to this and how we can amplify silenced voices through united, considered action.

Enveloped together within long text strands, the performers free each other by methodically dismembering the authoritative texts. They collaboratively gather and rebuild the severed words into new compositions that accentuate their own voices. This ritualistic process not only reinstates the performers as active participants in the discourse surrounding their bodies, but also transforms them into powerful conduits of change.

My practice engages in processes of disruption and communication breakdowns to reveal the underlying structures of control. Through this, I examine the politics of whose voices are amplified, whose are silenced, and the forms in which they are permitted to exist.

Plans after degree

I plan to keep developing my practice as an artist and eventually pursue a Master's degree to further my research into the voice. In the meantime, I would like to continue to grow my experience as an arts educator and workshop facilitator by engaging in community-driven projects and events.
