My artistic practice is a dynamic exploration of identity, boundaries, and limitations, blending scientific precision with creative intuition. Transitioning from biophysics to fine art, I use a diverse range of materials and forms to uncover the subconscious aspects of identity. My aim is to challenge and reassess the boundaries and limitations we impose on ourselves and others.
Central to my work are immersive installations crafted from wire, thread, and other tactile materials. These three-dimensional structures blur the lines between presence and absence, inviting viewers to question their perceptions of reality. By manipulating materials to create organic forms that interact with light and shadow, I reveal hidden dimensions within seemingly simple structures.
As an immigrant artist, I incorporate auto-ethnographic elements into my practice, weaving personal narratives into broader themes. My installations act as spatial metaphors for the fragile yet resilient nature of identity, particularly exploring feminine strength and redemption. Inspired by artists such as Nasreen Mohamedi and Anna Hepler, my work reflects the tension between control and chance, order and chaos. This approach reveals my fascination with ambiguity and ephemerality.
Through my installations, I examine the interplay between my intentionality and the viewer's interpretation, fostering a nuanced commentary on contemporary existence.
Plans after degree
I aim to build my reputation by developing a strong body of work and establishing a robust exhibition history. To gain visibility, I plan to participate in smaller art fairs and exhibitions.
Additionally, I will apply for positions at galleries and fine art jewellery galleries. I am also considering joining an artist collective to gain additional support and opportunities. Furthermore, I will seek out opportunities to create public art or installations within my community.
