Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) has been shortlisted for two awards at a prestigious Higher Education Awards event.
The University has been shortlisted for awards in Technological or Digital Innovation of the Year and Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team at the Times Higher Education Awards, which celebrate the ‘talent, dedication and innovation of individuals and teams’ across all aspects of university life.
AUB’s Digital Innovation of the Year shortlisting recognises the institution’s work to create an Instagram prospectus – the first ever prospectus to be delivered exclusively on a social platform. Breaking down the barriers between audience and University, the Instagram prospectus was designed to provide a more immediate type of engagement and offers an opportunity to explore AUB’s creative environment in a novel way, on a familiar platform.
In addition, the specialist arts university’s Marketing Team has been nominated for the Outstanding Marketing/Communications Team award, which recognises how communications strategy and initiatives have delivered measurable changes in the public perception of HE institutions.
Simon Pride, Head of Recruitment and Marketing at AUB, said: “I am super proud that my team have been nominated for 2 HE "Oscars". But credit must also be shared with management, academic and professional service colleagues, without whose trust and collaboration we could not have delivered such ambitious and innovative projects. A successful marketing team is not, and never can be, an island - it is only as good as the relationship it has with its community.”
The news comes amid a raft of AUB award wins in July, with the University scooping four awards at the HEIST university marketing awards, including Silver Awards for Best Prospective Student Journey/Campaign and Most Effective Use of Digital or Social, a Gold Award for Best Student Recruitment Publication or Prospectus, and a Rising Star Award for In-House Graphic Designer Lauren Bowling.
More than 70 institutions are in the running for awards across 20 categories after 550 entries with winners being announced at the Hilton London Metropole on the evening of 17 November.
