This exciting course gives budding animators aged 12-15 an insight into the world of animation, focusing on hand-drawn 2D animation.

Who's this course for?

This course has been developed for aspiring animators aged 12-15.

Does my young artist need any qualifications or experience?

No. This is an introductory course, so your young artist doesn't need any previous experience, just be prepared to bring lots of energy and enthusiasm!

This course is suitable for any youngsters with a passion for animation – both complete beginners and those with previous experience.

What's included in this price?

  • All course materials and resources
  • Everything your young artist will need to take part in the course will be provided by us – no hidden costs!

  • Classes are practical, so wear clothes that you don't mind your young artists getting messy.
  • Drinks and snacks for break time and duration of class; please ensure snacks don't contain nuts.
  • It's strongly advised phones, tablets and other valuables aren't brought to class. Any personal possessions are the responsibility of your young artist and AUB won't be liable for any loss or damage.

About this course

This exciting course has been specifically developed for young animators aged 12–15 that are either taking their first steps into the world of animation or have some previous experience. With expert guidance from their tutor, we’ll help them harness their creativity, artistic knowledge, and gain confidence in creating and sharing their work.

This is a perfect opportunity for your young artists to push their ideas and let loose with their creativity. Animation has no limits, and through this course, young artists can launch themselves into the amazing world of animation.

Each week students will learn new skills using industry standard equipment and techniques that are vital in the world of animation.

Skills covered includes 2D animation, character design, storyboarding, as well as a comprehensive introduction to the fundamental principles of animation.

Your young artist will use our specialist studio spaces that have been home to our award-winning graduates, using tools and equipment that the creative industries rely on.

Your young artist will learn alongside up to 16 other like-minded youngsters, make friends, and have fun along the way.

At the end of the course, your young artist will leave with an increased confidence in their abilities, have a wealth of new skills that they can apply to their everyday life and beyond, and an excitement for future art and design studies.

  • Have the foundations to continue creating beyond this course
