About this course

This new introductory short course is designed to introduce creative artists to the world of AI and explore how it can be harnessed to enhance your creative arts-focused work. Through a combination of theoretical concepts and practical applications, you'll gain a solid foundation in understanding AI and its potential as a tool for creative artistic expression. The course will aim to empower artists to incorporate AI into their creative processes while exploring different aspects of generative AI.

Whether you're a painter, sketcher, photographer, graphic designer, or illustrator, whatever your artistic interest and ability this exciting new course will expand your creative possibilities using this exciting new technology.

By the end of this short course, you'll have gained valuable insights into the integration of AI in the creative arts, developed practical skills to apply generative AI, and produced unique artworks that blend human creativity with artificial intelligence. This course aims to empower artists to embrace the possibilities offered by AI and contribute to the exciting and evolving field of AI-driven creativity.

You may have already completed a creative short course at Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) and wish to build on your skills or have the existing knowledge to start your studies at this introductory level. This course will introduce you to the boundless possibilities that AI offers the creative artist.

Taught by expert tutor, Jason Bascombe, Creative Technologies lecturer at AUB, a professional practising photographer and experienced teacher, who himself enjoys pushing the boundaries of image making and AI to discover new ways of expressing the world around him. This course is perfectly suited to students who are looking to take their first steps into creative AI with AUB and advance their educational journey in creative arts.
