Outdoor Adventure

My project, entitled Outdoor Adventure, is inspired by spending time outdoors and the positive effects this has on both mental and physical wellbeing.

Growing up, my parents were Scout leaders, so I spent a lot of my childhood on campsites and taking part in a variety of adventurous activities. I had a very enriching childhood and I intend to inspire the next generation by volunteering as an adult in Scouting and Guiding alongside my creative practice.

As a designer, I work in a sustainable way with high awareness on my material choices and processes. The pieces within this collection incorporate dead stock and up-cycled materials and yarns. I have also sourced dead stock workwear and used the reflective strips off these to create an interactive element within my collection. The specialist techniques include digital print, digital weave, machine knit and CAD embroidery. The collection is for a menswear fashion context, an area I feel is often overlooked.
