The Emerald Dream
The Emerald Dream is an immersive, digital artwork using Unreal Engine 5, leading viewers through a lush, enchanted forest centred around a Great World Tree. Initially serene with the sounds of birds and wind chimes, the experience turns unsettling as viewers, embodied as a robotic character, fall from the tree amid static and inverted colours. This fall introduces themes of trauma and disconnection, with flashbacks to a cold, sterile box symbolising imprisonment.
The artwork contrasts peaceful exploration with disturbing interruptions, highlighting the persistent nature of trauma. It questions the boundary between dream and reality, exploring self-exploration and memory. As viewers navigate the landscape, recurring disturbing imagery evokes confusion and discomfort, making them reflect on their own experiences and traumas. The Emerald Dream offers a profound journey through a digital landscape, blending serene and unsettling elements to delve into the complexities of the human experience.
Domolki aims to surpass conventional art engagement by creating immersive, interactive experiences. They value accessibility and audience engagement, fostering deeper connections and promoting inclusivity. Believing art should be widely shared, they emphasise that shared experiences create greater investment and attachment, increasing the reach and impact of the art (world).
Plans after degree
I plan to do a Master's Degree in Games Design, more particularly focused around world building and environmental design. I am also considering becoming a technician or a teaching assistant.
