I put forward costume designs for AUB Productions' The Ballad of Maria Marten. I studied the script and completed research into 1820s England, producing at least one design for each of the 13 characters. I became prop maker for the production, making the two (intact and broken-down) green umbrellas using existing frames.
I was costume supervisor on the Bournemouth University grad film E-MOT. I was also responsible for the customisation of these costumes, applying logos that rooted the characters into the sci-fi dystopian world.
On SISATA’s production of Peter Pan, I have been part of the team designing costumes for the Native characters, which represent the island of Portland in this adaptation. I was given the freedom to research and choose my own characters to pursue, having the production formed around a costume perspective.
My personal project was always going to be the Sondheim musical Assassins. It was a joy to create hypothetical costume designs for the 12 characters. I got to apply my love of history once more when researching the real-life assassins and attempted assassins of American presidents, including a wide range of time periods.
