A shadow box containing a stitched illustration of Titania from Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The project centred around researching the cultural impact of British folklore in the past and the present, so the aim was to introduce these elements in the shadow box. 

To achieve this, I used a more modern art style for Titania but used materials commonly used in the past, such as calico fabric, to represent the past. A Midsummer Night’s Dream was one of the earliest and most influential portrayals of English folklore, so it was the perfect theme for the final piece
