BA (Hons) Costume

Lilli Jeffries

Over the last couple of years in costume, I’ve specialised in supervision and breakdown artistry.

For Level 6, I worked on a couple of shows, my first show was a collaborative dance show with Bournemouth and Poole College, where I was the supervisor and breakdown artist. This project helped me develop my supervision and textiles skills and allowed me to work with external production teams. I also worked on a AUB Production on A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I was the breakdown artist, which allowed me to focus on my breakdown and textile skills for a theatre production.

I enjoy breakdown and textiles; I enjoy the experimental stage that allows to create the costume too its ideal look. I also enjoy how it helps build on the characters story and allows the audience to see their personality and their story. I also enjoy supervision as I like working in a team to help build the vision of the play or film.

Plans after degree

After graduation I’m planning on applying for short courses and work experience, particularly in breakdown or supervision for theatre and film and TV to help me build my skills in the industry.
