Not Quite Still Water presents a collection of 10 oil paintings depicting a variety of British landscapes surrounding a body of water. The work invites the viewer to reflect on their relationship with nature, considering how we often view the world through photographs. 

My practice looks at the transformative act of turning a memory into a painted surface, and how this affects what we perceive as reality. I painted my experiences using photographic references, altering the image as the painting developed. The serene depictions celebrate the beauty of nondescript areas and untouched land, and allow me to explore my personal connection to water.
