The Freydis Remix (2024) is a triptych of oil-on-canvas paintings. 

In these works, Freydis takes revered pieces of classical art and remixes them into playful, pop art-like paintings. These serve as a form of trans activism, humanising trans people by weaving them back into the history from which they were erased. Freydis accomplishes this not only by inserting herself as an openly transgender character into these scenes, but also by using colour, line, and contrast to create a vivid and bold image that insists on being seen. The portrayal reflects a self-confidence that she believes everyone should have, regardless of gender identity.

After graduation, Freydis will be studying MA Painting at AUB to further her painting practice.
