I want to specialise in running wardrobe and dressing as I enjoy the backstage atmosphere and the excitement that quick changes bring. I was Head of Running Wardrobe for AUB’s production of The Ballad of Maria Marten. I worked closely with a team of dressers and the cast and crew to keep costumes organised for the many quick changes we had. As head of running wardrobe, I also was in charge of the laundry and the general upkeep of the costumes.
I also was a dresser for another AUB production – the 1700s version of La Casa Nova. I really enjoyed getting to experience a different type of costume, ones that required crinolines, pocket hoops and how these affected the way you can dress someone and get them to the stage.
As a separate project, I was joint costume supervisor and designer for a student monologue film. I got to experience more of a film set rather than a theatre stage as well as allowing myself to be more creative when finding the costumes.
Plans after degree
After graduation I plan to take some rest and look for local theatre jobs to further build my CV; however, I will be open to other options.
