BA (Hons) Acting

Amber Grace Jackson

In her final year Amber partook in a plethora of opportunities involving both stage and screen. Performing as the mischievous Michaud in Fiona Ross’ contemporary, genre-bending adaptation of Émile Zola’s Thérèse Raquin. Following this, debuting the re-opening of Bournemouth’s Palace Court Theatre, Amber played the callous Lady Cooke in The Ballad of Maria Marten, written by Beth Flintoff and directed by Luke Kernaghan.

During their time at AUB, Amber has found a passion for Screen Acting and has collaborated with both the BA (Hons) Film Production and MA Film Practice courses and has been featured in a multitude of short and mid-length films. Alongside this, Amber had the pleasure of being the Deputy Stage Manager of AUB Productions’ first dual-cast piece, Goldoni’s comedy La Casa Nova, working closely with the cast and director Kenneth Robertson. Finally, in collaboration with Emily Tamar, she devised a 10-minute multimedia physical theatre piece inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 57 and techniques of Frantic Assembly.

Plans after degree

After graduating Amber will return to Manchester, where they will continue to create and develop theatre, whilst auditioning for roles in film, theatre and radio.

Alongside this, Amber and the other members of Auriga Theatre Company will finish their play about the life of Alan Turing. This play is ensemble-based, aiming to educate and retell the story of Alan’s unimaginable life. In collaboration with set designers, costume designers and hair and make-up artists, the company are on their way to creating an hour production and hoping to take it the fringe festivals in the summer of 2025.

During their time at AUB, Amber has also discovered a passion for writing, they will continue to write plays with the natural urge to bring justice and light to true stories with people who have been treated unfairly by situations out of their control.
