We're in partnership with the University of the Arts London for the delivery of our research degrees. AUB adopts the fees set by UAL for its doctoral programme.

All students are required to pay tuition fees for each academic year of study. Fees are shown below.
*The writing-up fee is payable in four instalments for up to a maximum of one year.
Please note: Students who enrolled in 2017/18 or earlier will pay the £240 Writing-up fee.

International students who enrolled in 2018/19 or earlier will continue to pay the same fee that they paid in the first year of their enrolment on their research degree at UAL.

Discounts
If you're an undergraduate or postgraduate alumnus, you may be eligible to receive the following discount:
20% tuition fee discount for each year of study when progressing from undergraduate or postgraduate study to research study. These discounts do not apply to Master of Architecture students.
Student Finance England
PhD students may be able to apply for a Postgraduate Doctoral Loan through Student Finance England.
A Postgraduate Doctoral Loan can help with course fees and living costs while you study a postgraduate doctoral course, such as a PhD. You can apply online or request a paper application form from the government website. If you have any questions about your eligibility for the loan please contact Student Finance England.
Students from the Islands attending full-time higher education course at AUB may be able to apply for means-tested funding. Please refer to the appropriate website for more details.
A few AUB bursaries may be available to Island students who are undertaking a research degree.

The support available varies, so it’s important that you check the correct country.
Northern Ireland
Students who normally live in Northern Ireland may receive financial support for university from the Northern Ireland Executive.

Scotland
Students who normally live in Scotland may receive financial support for university from the Scottish Government.
For more information, students should refer to the student finance for Scotland website.
Wales
Students who normally live in Wales may receive financial support for university from the Welsh Assembly Government.
For more information, students should refer to the student finance for Wales website.
International Scholarships
We aim to have a diverse student environment with the best creative talent in the UK and have several bursaries and scholarships available. These are awarded for every year of your course, giving you financial support throughout your time studying with us. AUB offers scholarships of up to £5,000 for Research level study. In addition to this, tuition fee discounts related to early payment of fees are available for international students (contact us for further details).
A number of external scholarships are open to international students applying to Arts University Bournemouth for Research level awards. Please note that these scholarships are extremely competitive and require the demonstration of outstanding achievement in the field of the creative arts. Students interested in applying for external scholarships should contact the international office for further details.
Loans for American Students
Students from America will be pleased to know that United States Federal Loans are available for you to study at AUB, just as they'd be if you were studying in the US, as AUB has been authorised to certify applications.
