Beginners or anyone with some experience who want to refresh or develop their skills further.

None – this is an introductory course. We have no formal academic entry requirements for our short courses.

About this course

Unlock your artistic potential and explore the fascinating world of fine art. On this exciting new course, you’ll explore alternative approaches and artistic mediums, methods, and artistic approaches. Whether you aspire to pursue a career in fine art or simply want to explore your passion for creativity, this course will be an enriching adventure of discovery that’ll ignite your creativity and inspire your artistic journey.

Under the guidance of our expert tutor, Aaron Peever, you’ll embark on a creative journey that combines theory, practical exercises, and hands-on projects. Through a series of engaging demonstrations and projects, you’ll learn the essential principles and techniques used in fine art, enabling you to express your unique artistic vision and increase your skills.

Throughout the course, you’ll cover a range of topics including drawing fundamentals, composition, colour theory, brushwork, texture creation, and more. You’ll have the opportunity to experiment with diverse mediums such as graphite, charcoal, ink, acrylics, and oil paints, and clay, allowing you to discover your preferred artistic and creative style.

By the end of this exploratory fine art journey, you’ll have developed a solid foundation of fine art techniques and be the proud owner of a portfolio that reflects your artistic growth.

Will I be assessed?

No, there is no formal assessment. You’ll group share your work at the end of each session with the intention to support, inspire and encourage each other’s learning. 


As the course progresses your tutor will measure your overall performance and offer essential guidance and feedback, so you know how you're getting on.
