Please note, you’ll need access to a computer and the internet between sessions so you can undertake research.

• An introduction to the world of the professional make-up artist, including history, current practices, and how make-up impacts and connects to the creative arts
• Health and Safety considerations, hygiene, and best working practices
• How make-up can be used in various art forms, looks, and styles
• Identifying facial shapes, bone structure and skin, types
• The principles behind building a context to your work and forward planning
• Mediums, methods, and specialist application techniques
• Alternative processes and special effects make-up applications
• Different mediums and application methods
• Mini assignments and collaborating on ideas
• Client consultation techniques and costing services as a make-up artist

At the end of the course you'll:

• Understand the fundamental concepts of professional make-up industry, and what opportunities you may have working as a freelance make-up artist
• Have had the chance to practice with different make-up mediums, application methods, and techniques
• Be able to apply practical techniques for integrating special effects into your final look
