Art Explorers (Art and Design)

Overview

This vibrant course encourages young artists to experiment and explore their creativity whilst having fun at the same time.

What you need to know

Your young artist will study with us for five full days and each day will include six hours' worth of teaching, with breaks for snacks and lunch.

Plus, there's a bonus exhibition on the Friday immediately following the final day of teaching. The exhibition lasts one hour, 16.00-17.00.

Friends and family are invited to attend the showcase so you can see what your young artist has been up to.

Please note, this course will run twice across the summer. Choose your preferred course dates when you book your young artist's place.

Students on this course will be placed into two classes. If you're booking places for siblings and wish for them to be in the same class, contact us via email at academy@aub.ac.uk to advise.

Who's this course for?

This course has been developed for young creative artists aged 7-9 years.

Does my young artist need any qualifications or experience?

Your young artist doesn't need any previous creative experience.

What's included in this price?

  • All course materials and resources
  • Everything your young artist will need to take part in the course will be provided by us – no hidden costs!

  • Classes are practical, so wear clothes that you don't mind your young artists getting messy.
  • A packed lunch each day as well as drinks and snacks for break time and duration of class; please ensure snacks don't contain nuts.
  • It's strongly advised phones, tablets and other valuables aren't brought to class. Any personal possessions are the responsibility of your young artist and AUB won't be liable for any loss or damage.

About this course

During this exciting and highly engaging course, your young artist will be encouraged to set their imagination free, find their creative expression and we'll nurture their talent to the fullest. All projects and learning undertaken will be tailored to the younger age group.

This course focuses on experimentation, exploration, and supporting individual creativity. Your young artist will learn in an inclusive environment that provides enjoyment and excitement through a captivating series of activities designed for youngsters to gain confidence.

Your young creative artists will spend a jam-packed week immersed in our creative, inclusive, and vibrant campus, studying alongside other summer students.

Each day your aspiring artist will learn new skills and processes in art, design, and crafting techniques, where our tutors will unleash their natural style, ability, and flair to enable them to build on their existing skills as well as develop new ones, with the aim of supporting creative identity and confidence to the fullest.

Taught by specially selected tutors who are both practising artists and specialist young-learner tutors, your young artist will take full advantage of our superb facilities and studios, in which they'll create and share their work in an encouraging and considerate environment. Great care is also taken to ensure all young artists are included, respected, and fully supported throughout the duration of the course.

At the end of the course, your young artist will:

  • Be encouraged to experiment and explore their ideas.

  • Have the foundations to continue creating beyond this course.
  • You can request a certificate to confirm your young artist's achievements, providing they have 100% attendance record. To request a certificate please get in touch with us at academy@aub.ac.uk and confirm name of your young artist and the title of course they've completed.
