During my time at AUB I have gained skills in tailoring, corsetry, dressmaking, and drafting patterns.
I have also had the opportunity through university to do work experience at the Royal Northern College of Music on their winter opera where I gained experience in dressing, fittings, making and working in an actual costume workshop, as well as working with the wider technical departments in the theatre.
I have worked on several productions through AUB including Wolves of Willoughby Chase, SALT and a short film, ALKIS. Outside of university, I have been able to work on several projects, including a short film produced by Screenworks in collaboration with BFI: HUMAN ERROR.
For my final project, I made one costume in collaboration with AUB to recreate a Jacobean portrait for the costume store – this gave me an opportunity to improve my embroidery and decoration skills as well as work on historical cut and construction.
Additionally, I completed a personal project which was inspired by Maison Margiela’s 2024 haute couture show. This project allowed me to work on my corsetry skills and express my passion for Edwardian and turn-of-the-century fashion.
Plans after degree
After university, I aspire to work in the theatre or as a part of historical projects.
