In my research, I was interested in the concept of ecological borders and the liminal space between land and water. In theory, the concept of a clearly drawn line/border between a water body and land is impossible, but in political reality, the government bodies in Delhi have been distributed into land and water without any overlap.
Ecology is political and is entangled within systems of power and ownership. There is a lack of consideration for the water cycle within urban architecture. The natural flow of water is restricted, bordered and forced to transform. This leads to long-term effects such as an increase in rainfall, water pollution, floods, and droughts.
Within an urban hydrological cycle, water is continuously displaced and often lost. My work is an attempt to translate this research into something tangible.
