I’m an aspiring costume designer wanting to specialise in film and TV. Throughout my time at AUB, I’ve worked on various projects both live and theoretical with a focus on film and painting.
I have a lot of interest in the historical aspect of design as well as the fantasy genre. I like the dreams and whimsy of fairytales and the darkness and depth of history
I designed costume for a graduate film, and it really cemented how much film is something I wish to take further in my career. Coming up with ways to make each character visibly unique and different through costume was really what I discovered I loved, and this project allowed me to realise that.
I also developed my painting through scenic art for theatre sets but also on a canvas and a corset. I wanted to produce a full canvas because it really helps plunge into the world I am trying to describe and embellish through costume, and a corset to combine design and hand-painted art.
Plans after degree
After graduating, I intend to work and gain as much experience in the film and TV industry as a daily, trainee or design assistant to better develop my skills and understanding.
