Nil Üzer
Originally from Turkey, Nil is now based in London and Istanbul. During her degree in acting at AUB, she collaborated with people on various projects. In her second year she focused on acting for film, working on projects such as A Safra and How Do You Do? Her final year was focused on stage, where she acted as Angot in Thérèse (directed by Fiona Ross) and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream (directed by Aileen Gonsalves). She worked as an LX operator and an assistant stage manager for AUB Productions' shows The Wolves of Willoughby Chase (directed by Tamsin Fessey) and The Ballad of Maria Marten (directed by Luke Kernaghan).
Nil aims to provoke audiences to think by creating links between her art and the world as it can be seen in her short stage performance, No Protesting Please, which she wrote and directed, highlighting how the oppressor portrays the oppressed in the mainstream media, drawing inspiration from the accusations and the truth surrounding Palestine. Nil aims to practice her theatre making skills as a professional and engage with people from different backgrounds whilst trying new things along the way, living by the words "Keep an open mind, give it a go!"
Plans after degree
Nil plans on moving to London with her sister and two actor friends, thus transforming the student living experience to young professionals living experience. She is planning on working in theatre as crew with an interest in stage management whilst auditioning for stage, film and TV roles.
