Luisa’s paintings explore themes of motherhood, care, emotional connection, and the burden of the caregiver role. These delve into the complexities of caregiving and the reciprocal need for connection, specifically in relation to the connection between herself, her twin sister and their mother.
She uses dominating hues of purple to portray emotional depth and longing, with accents of complimenting colours to elevate the emotional intensity and yearning. Her figures intertwine in knotted masses, and she often incorporates the use of embroidery to accentuate the idea of that metaphorical entanglement within the relationship between the three women.
Plans after degree
I am moving back home (Dubai) and will apply for internships to work with artists and in the art scene.
