Over the course of my three years at AUB, I have acquired the skills to create historically accurate menswear and womenswear, along with learning about costume supervision.
I decided for my final year that I would specialise in costume supervision. I was given the opportunity to be costume supervisor for two AUB shows, Spring Awakening and the 1770s version of La Casa Nova.
Spring Awakening was a sourced show, which allowed me the opportunity to improve my hiring and buying skills to fit the costume designs within a budget. I was able to practice breaking down costumes, using different tools and dyes to create the illusion that the costumes had been worn in and to follow the plot of the play.
La Casa Nova was a made show, I had the chance to go fabric shopping in London with the designer at the beginning of the project and then I worked with the costume makers and bought them the materials they needed to create the costumes.
Plans after degree
After I graduate, my aim is to work in theatre and my goal is to carry on with costume supervision.
