I am an aspiring theatre designer maker specialising in costume and props.
Throughout my final year at AUB, I took on a variety of roles on live briefs, in and outside of the University. These included titles like costume and set designer, props supervision, modelmaker, and scenic artist.
The collection of exhibits below showcase some of the work I completed this year. Costume, prop and puppet designing for the AUB Productions Wolves of Willoughby Chase was an opportunity with an incredibly visually rich script and story. Alongside a wonderfully creative director, Tamsin Fessey, I was able to create a whole new world on stage in a fictional 1830s under the imaginary reign of King James III.
While my interest lies in costume and props for theatre, I also took on costume design for film with a production entitled Deaf, Profoundly, a story about a boy in a single deaf family household. The film will be premiered at the BFI in 2024.
Overall, I have enjoyed the collaborative, hands-on elements of this course – this has given me much enthusiasm about a future working in theatre.
