Order of the Divine
Order of the Divine was inspired by my own personal interests in various denominations of divination, including tarot, astrology and palmistry, with a focus on geometrics.
For this project, I have used a combination of modern techniques including laser cutting and digital print, as well as more traditional hand-painting alongside natural materials including cork, wood, ceramics and paper. My approach to textiles design centres around using contemporary processes, and traditional materials and methods, which comes across in this project.
The colour palette was determined by my primary images and objects I collated to inform my drawings, whist also being aware of current WGSN trends (trend forecasting platform). Its bold use of colour, together with natural materials, gives this project an uplifting warmth with sustainability at the heart of each piece.
Plans after degree
I am currently starting my own business offering personalised laser cut and digital designs with a focus on sustainable materials. I am also interested in collaboration and freelancing opportunities.
