As an aspiring set and costume designer, I have a passion for creating atmospheric design that can enable stories to be told in a conceptual way, considering lighting from the start.
I have worked on a variety of AUB Productions, including responsibilities such as scenic supervisor for The Wolves of Willoughby Chase and as set designer for The Ballad of Maria Marten. In both of these roles, I enjoyed the collaborative process and being able to work with other courses and external directors. Seeing the design for The Ballad of Maria Marten from early design stages to the performances was a great learning experience and has inspired me to pursue a career as a designer. This has also enabled me to learn the practical skills involved in the scenic construction and art of design, which I enjoy and has made me a better designer.
I have also been involved in the grad films All My Blues and Deaf, Profoundly as assistant costume designer and I am excited about all areas of the industry.
Plans after degree
Following graduation, I aspire to become an assistant designer in theatre or film and look forward to a creative career, meeting and learning from many more creatives along the way.
