Innovation Studio
Industry-engagement and our strong maker culture puts collaboration at the heart of everything we do.
As fellow makers, Sunseeker shares AUB’s vision of developing solutions through collaboration.
We're proud to partner with them through our Associate Programme.
Sunseeker is a British luxury yacht manufacturer based in Poole, Dorset. Since its founding in 1969, Sunseeker has revolutionised the performance motor yacht space and grown to carry a reputation for exceptional quality.
Known to push boundaries, Sunseeker challenges the status quo with industry-defining designs and advanced technical innovation, creating luxury motor yachts like no other.
Famed for a traditional approach to yacht building, Sunseeker is disrupting the industry yet again by exploring new approaches to design and manufacturing.
The company has always been at the forefront of cutting-edge design and engineering, having won some of the world’s most prestigious accolades at the International Superyacht Design awards and Mets Boat Builder Awards. Their use of advanced composite materials and the latest construction techniques has set a benchmark for luxury yacht building.
As one of the world’s leading yacht manufacturers, technical and design excellence is a fundamental pillar to delivering a world-class product. Therefore, Sunseeker is always looking to innovate, develop, and test new concepts to remain best in class. That's where AUB's Innovation Studio comes in.
Academic and industrial collaboration will offer an opportunity for Sunseeker to further its goals of reducing waste, improving efficiencies, and elevating its offerings of product customisation.
As an Associate Partner, Sunseeker will have access to AUB's Lab 4 Creative Technologies meaning they can explore new solutions in an exciting and innovative way. AUB will provide the opportunity to experiment, using 3D Printing, Virtual Reality, Fabric Printing and more to explore new solutions.
This partnership with AUB will allow Sunseeker graduates, designers, and engineering and production teams to drive the company into a new era of manufacturing. Ultimately, they will have the ability to explore new technologies as part of the wider research and development process, investing in research to further value-driven manufacturing in the marine industry.
