About the role
AUB Academy are seeking a Residential Supervisor to be a team leader, supervising and coordinating a team of AUB residential assistants who will provide safeguarding and welfare services to visiting international summer students, aged 15-18 years, residing in AUB’s Campus Halls of Residence.
The post-holder is required to reside in Campus Halls of Residence (CH) from Sunday 3 August to Saturday 16 August 2025 (including the weekend of 9-10 August). The working hours are 16.45 - 23.00 daily, and as the first point of contact the Residential Supervisor will be expected to be on-call overnight in the CH between 23.00 – 07.00.
Working with a team of up to 20 AUB residential assistants (recruited from AUB’s student body) you will oversee and manage the delivery of safeguarding and welfare services to the teenage summer course students who are residing in CH once they have finished their daily course activities at AUB’s campus.
The Residential Supervisor’s duties will include:
Directing and managing a team of residential student ambassadors (approx. 20) to facilitate all residential and social activities for AUB Academy summer course students.
Ensuring team compliance with all AUB procedures and policies, strictly observing relevant safeguarding regulations, to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of summer course students outside of course teaching times.
Acting as a positive role model and AUB representative, co-ordinating and facilitating interactions between students, halls management and AUB Academy.
Overseeing room allocations within CH
Processing student check-in/out of CH
Establishing and supervising residential assistant duty rotas
Overseeing and supervising pre-scheduled evening and weekend activities
Ensuring that curfew times and appropriate student behaviour are upheld within CH
Maintaining close liaison with the AUB Academy team
Safeguarding and training
This position involves working with children (under 18s) and therefore requires compliance with the University’s Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment. The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people. The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding training.
To prepare for the role, the successful candidate is required to complete a comprehensive and paid mandatory training programme provided by the AUB Academy team, consisting of two day on campus training (8 & 9 July ’25), and additional online Safeguarding training.
