Whilst most of the students have disappeared to enjoy some well-earned rest and sunshine after completing their final projects, the campus is in full swing preparation for our Summer Shows.
Next week our campus transforms into the biggest gallery in the South West as our graduating students exhibit their final project work in the Summer Shows exhibitions.
Graduating students from Textiles had the opportunity to exhibit at New Designers, Part One 2014 at the Business Design Centre Islington
The Show was open to the public from 25th – 28th June. The AUB, BA Textiles stand showcased 20 graduates work, covering a broad range of skills within the textiles specialism. There were also four 2013 Textile graduates exhibiting at New Designers One Year On; Chloe Atkins, Georgia Bocchetta, Ruby Marquet-Horwood and Emilie Osborne.
The Arts University Bournemouth has been turned into a giant exhibition space for the annual HE Summer Shows that highlight the creative work from all the graduating arts, design, media and performance students.
From 22nd – 28th June, visitors are invited to come and view the innovative work of our talented ‘class of 2012’, before they graduate on Friday 29th June at Wimborne Minster. Work on show includes colourful, fantastical costumes that have been designed and made by Costume students for the Battle for the Winds Ceremony that marks the opening of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Weymouth at the end of July; award winning illustrations and designs that have been nominated for the renowned Design and Art Direction Awards in London; ground-breaking films and animations that will be sent to film festivals all over the world, and intricate replicas of the Queen’s Wedding and Coronation Dresses that were commmissioned for the Jubilee celebrations.
