Sarah Brimley, Commercial Photography Alumnus assisted David Bailey for the recent official portrait of the Queen, shot at Buckingham Palace. The smiley black and white photograph was released in honour of her 88th birthday on Monday 21st April.
Highly renowned British Photographer, David Bailey has previously taken photographs of many high profile figures such as Mick Jagger , Andy Warhol, East End gangsters, the Kray Twins and Diana, Princess of Wales. Bailey was awarded a CBE by the Queen in 2001 for his services to art.
On working with David Bailey, Sarah commented: “I’ve been working for Bailey for three years now. In that time I have watched him photograph all kinds of celebrities, and people from all walks of life. Spending two days in Buckingham Palace with Bailey and the Queen, however, will probably always be a career highlight. The Queen was warm and friendly, and Bailey was, as always, an inspiration.”
