Will is a senior lecturer at The Arts University Bournemouth, part of the BA (Hons) Modelmaking programme, with particular interest in teaching the skills needed for architectural modelmaking, and the role that creativity & making have in the design process Will completed PGCE study in 2012, achieving a Postgraduate Certificate of Education – Lifelong Learning Sector, with University of Greenwich. He holds a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy and is currently studying for a MA in Creative Thinking. Will is involved in new course development at AUB, has contributed to programmes at other institutions as an external examiner and as part of validation panels. Will has taught full-time at AUB since 2008, before that he taught regularly at University of Hertfordshire’s BA (Hons) Model Design programme, as a visiting tutor. Will delivers an architectural modelmaking evening class at AUB and is developing a postgraduate programme to offer a chance for students to more thoroughly develop their understanding of professional modelmaking. Alongside Will’s teaching, he is a passionate ‘Designer/Maker’, creating work that is showcased at www.willstrange.net. He is also an active member of the Association of Professional Modelmakers.

Modelmaking: We use a diverse set of skills and knowledge, often shared by different disciplines, but “What is the skill-set of the professional modelmaker?” and which skills are most valuable for graduates to master?
