Tom Strudwick has been a Senior Lecturer at AUB since 2007 with interests in producing, script and the business of film. He has worked in film production, financing and distribution since 1991, having been Head of Acquisitions at The Works; Vice President, Acquisitions & Production at MGM/United Artists; and Acquisitions Executive at Ciby 2000. Tom has worked on films from leading filmmakers including Pedro Almodovar, Robert Altman, Jane Campion, Sofia Coppola, Todd Haynes, PJ Hogan, Jim Jarmusch, Abbas Kiarostami, Mike Leigh, David Lynch, Mira Nair, John Sayles, and Michael Winterbottom. He has also consulted to government agencies including the UK Film Council, New Zealand Film Commission and Australian Film Commission.
Tom Strudwick joined AUB as a practioner-in-residence as part of the Skillset Bournemouth Screen Academy on its inception at 2007. Since then he has taught on the BA Film Production course, specialising in script and producing. He also teaches on the MA Film Production, as well as contributing to the BA Animation course. He has also taught on the MA Producing, MA Screenwriting and BA Screenwriting courses at Bournemouth University and the MA Screenwriting at Royal Holloway College. Prior to joining the HE sector, Tom ran film industry Professional Development courses in producing and script development, mainly in conjunction with government funding agencies in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.
I am researching script development practices in relation to film aesthetics.
