Becoming more-than-human: the vitalist apparatus of photography

Conference – Published 14th Jun 19

This paper was given at the Photography & Lived Experience PGR Research Seminar at University of Huddersfield on 14th June 2019. It outlined photography as a more-than-representational research method to examine encounters with home, for British migrants in Melbourne. Interested in the affective dimensions of home that emerge from the domestic and suburban backgrounds of everyday life it used photography as a way of thinking to explore these affective spaces, as a way of being in the world that encompasses, combines, and creates, multiple scales of the material, spatial and emotional.
