Paul is the current Course Leader for BA (Hons) Modelmaking at AUB. He joined the university following a long and varied career as a professional modelmaker. His professional experience spanned across many disciplines within modelmaking. His career began in Architectural Modelmaking at the Richard Rogers Partnership and moved on into areas of product design, product development, prototyping, TV advertising, Film SFX, digital animation, exhibition, interactive design and finally setting up his own company focusing on the Museum & Heritage sector.
As course leader Paul is responsible for supporting third year students and, as with the rest of the team, he teaches across all levels.
Paul has a keen interest in technical communication, leadership and the use of technology, while his practical skills range from traditional sculpting through to digital modelling. Throughout his career Paul has embraced all aspects of making and has sought to maintain this ethos and approach within the curriculum.
Paul continues to maintain currency in his knowledge of 3D scanning, photogrammetry, additive and subtractive manufacturing.
Paul and his team have improved efficiency through the design, prototyping and successful use of an assessment and feedback database. This has in turn prompted the development of other database driven projects to support teaching and course management in higher education.
