Moira achieved her BA (Hons) Business and Management from Queens University Belfast part time, while temping in a range of business services including sales, marketing, events and admin. She then decided to pursue a career in Human Resources from 2002, after HR intrigued her during short term HR Admin contracts in the finance and education sector. Moira subsequently completed a CIPD Post-grad Diploma in Personnel Management part time in 2004, while working full time as an HR Advisor.
Moira’s generalist HR career has spanned public sector; local Councils and government associations, and private sector; service industry including Northern Ireland HR Manager for NCP Traffic Enforcement and most recently 5 years as Employee Relations and Global HR Governance Specialist in Diageo; manufacturing for Guinness, Baileys and Smirnoff, working with 66 countries worldwide.
Throughout Moira’s career she has undertaken many projects including leading Employee Committees, Trade Union Consultation, writing model policies with the Public Sector People Manager’s Association, HR report design, facilitating Employment Law training for managers and implementing the HR and Payroll System; Workday.
Moira is the HR Partner for a defined client base at AUB and using her HR knowledge and expertise provides professional HR Generalist support and advice covering the full spectrum of the employment life cycle to meet the University’s Strategic Plan and Objectives. This includes managing organisational change, recruitment and resourcing, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations and reward and recognition. Moira is a strategic change partner for her client base and will also lead and / or contribute to specific HR projects.
