Biography

Obtained a 2:1 in Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from University College Cork. Undertook three year apprenticeship with KPMG in Dublin and qualified as a Chartered Accountant having obtained 8th place in Ireland in the Final Admitting Examination. Became a Fellow Chartered Accountant after ten years professional practice and the undertaking of continuing professional development.

Have been a governor of the Bishop of Winchester Academy since 2014 and chair the Resources Committee.  Became a trustee of the Board of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 2017 and currently chair the Finance Committee.  Have been an active member of the Pink Champagne Dragon Boat team since 2016 and am now the Treasurer and Trustee of the charity.

Professional practice

Previous Employment Experience 1. Financial consultant to Learning Action Dorset which oversaw the roll out of Learndirect provision in the Dorset area and was funded by means of Further Education Funding Rules (2001 -2004) 2. Director of Finance at Dorset Training & Enterprise Council with responsibility for Finance, Audit and IT and was instrumental in the establishment of Business Link Dorset Limited (1992 -2001) 3. Senior Internal Auditor at Jennings Housebuilder, Melbourne Australia (1989 – 1991) 4. Audit Senior and trainee at KPMG Dublin Ireland  (1984 – 1988)
