Marion gained her MA in Graphic Design at The Royal College of Art and a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design at Middlesex University.
As a Senior Lecturer and lead tutor for final year undergraduates Marion has established a consistent successful track record for guiding students on ‘live’ projects and to prestigious international competition wins.
(2017) BA(Hons) Graphic Design students achieved one Yellow, two Graphite and five Wooden pencils. Two winners of RSA Student Awards. Seven ISTD passes. Three Adobe Design Awards (2016) one Yellow, four Graphite and three Wooden pencils. Three shortlisted for RSA Student Awards. Three ISTD passes, including two Merits (2015) one D&AD White Pencil, two D&AD wooden pencils and six ISTD passes including a Merit pass.
Marion’s design experience, includes that of Creative Director at Design Bridge. Marion was lead tutor for final year graphic design students at Kingston University before joining AUB. She balances her teaching with working professionally to ensure her design knowledge is current, relevant and industry connected. As a designer she is focused on creating effective design solutions across a broad communication platform to small companies and larger organisations. Currently External Examiner at Edinburgh Napier University BDes Graphic Design and at Falmouth University on BA(Hons) Graphic Design and a Fellow of the RSA (Royal Society of the Arts).
Marion previously taught part time as a Senior Lecturer and lead tutor for final year BA(Hons) Graphic Design at Kingston University 2004-2014 and Brighton University 1988-1993.
She has also taught on various Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses as a VT and acted as external examiner at The Royal College of Art School of Communication Design (2000-2003) and is currently External Examiner at Edinburgh Napier for BDes Graphic Design and at Falmouth University on BA(Hons) Graphic Design. Marion’s professional experience is diverse.
As well as being partner in Morrison Dalley she has also worked for Trickett & Webb and The Partners, developing design for print and corporate identity, before becoming board level Creative Director at Design Bridge and specialising in global branding for UEFA and new product development projects for Unilever (Physio Sport, Birds Eye, Organics). Asia Pacific Breweries (Tiger Beer). Packaging for Phillips lighting, included design and implementation of a European range of sustainable packaging for lamps.
For the UEFA football headquarters in Geneva she designed site signage and trophy display areas as well as the branding programmes for all the competitions including the launch of UEFA Champions League the branding programme was implemented across print, stadium environment, broadcast programme title sequence, players kit and merchandising. Marion’s academic teaching focuses on a creative process that is open-minded, combines a productive thinking and ‘making’ approach to learning – she consciously pushes for learning to be a collaborative and outward facing ‘experience’ leading to unexpected, well implemented design solutions.
